The property, business and affairs of the Nebraska Nursery and Landscape Association are controlled and managed by a Board of Directors. The Board of Directors consists of the President, Vice-President, Immediate Past President and six other at-large directors. The President and Vice-President are elected for two year terms and the at-large directors are elected for three year terms by the Membership.
The Board of Directors and members at-large serve at the request of the President on various committees that guide and promote the activities of the NNLA.

Kim Todd
President
Kim is a licensed landscape architect and assistant professor in the Agronomy and Horticulture Department at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She spends 75% of her time teaching undergraduate courses in plant identification, landscape design and landscape management and 25% of her time as an extension horticulture specialist. Kim received a degree in landscape architecture from Iowa State University and a Master's degree in community and human resources from the University of Nebraska. She was responsible for the design and implementation of the UNL campus landscape for nearly 20 years and spent eight years working with the Nebraska Statewide Arboretum to design public landscapes across the state.

Tom Hamernik
Vice President
Tom started at Bluebird Nursery after graduating from DuPage Horticultural School in West Chicago, IL in the summer of 1978. Tom says, "he started before pots were plastic and soil wasn't dirt". Over the past 27 years he has been involved in most aspects of the nursery/greenhouse business, primarily with operation-supplies, contruction, maintenance, staffing and delivery issues. He is very involved with the Clarkson community, being a firefighter/EMT for 26 years and a local school board member for 13. In 1998, Tom was elected a regional director of the Nebraska Association of School Board and served as President in 2004. He passed his NCN exam in 1985 and proudly hold Certificate #22. Tom and his wife, Paula havve 3 adult daughters, Melissa, Samantha, Mallory and a granddaughter Gracie.

Dan Mulhall
Past President
Dan is vice-president of Mulhall's Nursery in Omaha, Nebraska. He graduated from Elkhorn Mount Michael High School and from the University of Notre Dame with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering in 1984. He worked in the family business during summers through his school years and joined the company full time in 1984. Dan, along with his brother Sean, run the day to day operations of Mulhall's Nursery. Dan is a Certified Nurseryman and is newly elected to the Board of the National Garden Center Organization (the retail division of the ANLA). Mulhall's is a member of and supports the activities of the ANLA, ALCA, NNLA and MNLA, along with various local business organizations. Dan is married with 5 children and is active in neighborhood and church committees.

George Pinkerton
Director
George graduated from UNL with a B.S. in Agriculture/Agronomy in 1975. He has continued his education in Urban Forestry, Arborist School, Advanced Arborist Program, Management and Leadership Training. George started his career in sales with Crow’s Seed Co., Northrup King Seed Co. and Dempster Ind. Inc. He moved on to Arborist/Superintendent of Parks in Beatrice and was a Horticulture Instructor at Southeast Community College. He became Ground Maintenance Supervisor for the State of Nebraska DAS/HHSS in Beatrice. He is now the Director of Maintenance for the Downtown Lincoln Association. He has served as a board member and President for the National Management Association, Nebraska Statewide Arboretum and Beatrice Clean City (KAB) affiliate). George and his wife Linda have 3 children and one grandchild and reside in Beatrice.

Heather Byers
Director
Heather graduated from UNL with a bachelor’s degree in Horticulture-Production in 2006. While attending college, she worked for Campbell’s Nursery. After graduation, along with the help of her family, started Great Plains Nursery, a specialty wholesale nursery focused on natives. She is continually working with other nurserymen in the state to provide high quality trees grown in a root production method to the Nebraska industry. She is a member and supporter of the Nebraska Statewide Arboretum and ReTree Nebraska, and has served on the GreatPlants selection committee. She has been a member of NNLA since 2005 and NAA since 2007. She and her husband, Brian have 2 children and live near Weston, NE.

Jake Sittner
Director
Since Jake’s childhood, he has been interested in outdoor activities. A Lincoln native, his early experiences working outside with his parents must have cultivated ongoing desire and passion for working in landscaping recreationally and later professionally. As his knowledge base grew, Jake learned to appreciate conservation practices and the importance of how landscapes function. This is the foundation of Tailored Landscapes, LLC, the company Jake launched in 2003 while he attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. In 2006, he graduated from UNL with a degree in Horticulture, emphasizing on Landscape Design. Since then, he has worked to expand his company and expertise, the latter advanced by shadowing a high-end landscape architecture firm in Chicago and becoming a Certified Nurseryman. In December 2008, Jake married his wife, Kristi, whom he met at UNL in Kim Todd’s plant identification class

Kim is President and co-founder of Garden Creations, a landscape design / build firm based in Omaha, NE. She earned a Bachelor of Science in horticulture from Kansas State University with emphasis in landscape design. Kim has spent eighteen years as a landscape designer in the Omaha area. She received her Nebraska Certified Nurseryman Certificate in 1992 and now serves on the NNLA Nebraska Certified Nurseryman Committee. Kim is a Certified Landscape Designer in the state of Nebraska (there are less than 10 in the state) and she is an associate member of the Association of Professional Landscape Designers.

Andy Campbell
Director
Andy has officially been in the business since 1990 and unofficially even longer. He graduated with a B.S. in Agriculture with an emphasis in Horticulture from Purdue University in 1996. He is currently the manager of the Landscape Design Department at Campbell's Nurseries. His past experience includes landscape installation and maintenance, retail sales in the Garden Center, accounts payable and landscape design. Andy is a member of the NNLA and is on the ANLA Technology Committee. He is a proud supporter of the NNLA, the ANLA and his community.
